The BWH Chapter of the Association of Multicultural Members of Partners (AMMP) honored nine scholarship recipients at a luncheon and ceremony on November 12 held in the Anesthesia Conference Room. The 2003 scholars included Nilda Amado, Analisa Baraka, Arlene Cribbs, Nicole Douglas, Mikerlange Jean-Louis, Diana Perkins, Raymond K. St. Pierre, Dora Tovar, and Kinara Yang.
The scholarship presentations were paired with remarks from guest speakers Cheryl Locke, BWH vice president of Human Resources and Gary L. Gottlieb, MD, MBA, BWH president. “The growth in the AMMP Scholarship Program is a key part of our commitment to diversity and multiculturalism in our workforce,” said Gottlieb. “AMMP’s commitment to advancement, retention, recruitment and development ofmulticultural professionals fits our values, our mission and our vision for the hospital.”“In health care we aim to improve the lives of others,” said Locke. “Having a multicultural perspective is critical for our own growth and for our patients.”“Giving everyone the opportunity to take caring to the next step is the way AMMP has helped to elevate the quality of care for each other and our patients,” added Locke.The AMMP is open to all Partners employees who are interested in the advancement of multicultural leadership roles within the organization.
